OVERVIEW

Chandigarh is unlike any other Indian city. Planned by Le Corbusier in the 1950s, it is India's first and most successful planned city — a showcase of modernist urban design, wide tree-lined boulevards, and unparalleled quality of life. The whimsical Rock Garden — a surreal sculptural world built from industrial waste by Nek Chand — and the tranquil Sukhna Lake at the foot of the Shivalik Hills complete the experience.
