Established in 1936 as India's first national park, Jim Corbett National Park in Uttarakhand is one of the finest tiger reserves in Asia and a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. Spread across 520 sq km of sal forests, grasslands, and the scenic Ramganga River valley, Corbett is home to over 220 Bengal tigers, elephants, leopards, and 600 bird species. Itinerary
DAY-WISE ITINERARY
Depart Delhi at 06:00 AM for the 250 km drive to Jim Corbett National Park (~5 hours via NH-9). Arrive at jungle resort by noon; check in and lunch. Briefing from expert naturalist guide. Afternoon jeep safari (3:00 PM to 6:00 PM) in the allocated zone — either Bijrani (known for tigers) or Jhirna. Watch for pugmarks, listen for alarm calls from spotted deer and langurs. Return to resort for dinner. Evening campfire briefing by naturalist. Overnight at resort.
Rise before dawn for morning safari at first light (6:00 AM to 9:30 AM) — when tigers and leopards are most active. Return to resort for breakfast and checkout by 11:00 AM. Depart for Delhi arriving ~05:00 PM.

BEST TIME TO VISIT

October to June for wildlife viewing. November–February has the most pleasant weather. Dhikala zone is open March to June. Park is closed during monsoon (July–September).

IMPORTANT NOTES

  • Tiger sightings are never guaranteed in the wild, but Corbett has one of the highest tiger density rates in India.
  • Loud noises, bright clothing & standing up in the jeep are prohibited inside the park.
  • Safari vehicles are allocated by the forest department; specific zones cannot always be guaranteed.
  • Children under 5 years are not permitted on wildlife safaris.
  • Do not litter inside the park; all waste must be carried out.

Bijrani and Dhikala zones have the highest tiger sighting rates. Bijrani is accessible year-round; Dhikala is open mid-November to June.
