OVERVIEW

Ranthambore National Park in Rajasthan is one of India's most celebrated tiger reserves and arguably the best place in the world to spot tigers in their natural habitat. Unlike many reserves where tigers disappear into dense forest, Ranthambore's open terrain, ancient ruins, and large lakes create extraordinary opportunities for dramatic tiger sightings — even in full daylight. Our 1 Night / 2 Day tour gives you two safaris in the park's most productive zones.

BEST TIME TO VISIT

October to June for wildlife viewing. March–June when water is scarce — tigers congregate around waterholes making sightings almost certain. Park closed July–September.

THINGS TO CARRY

  • Neutral, earthy clothing (avoid white and bright colours)
  • Binoculars and camera with zoom lens
  • Warm layers for early morning safaris
  • Insect repellent
  • Sun hat and sunscreen
  • Water bottle (refillable)
IMPORTANT NOTES

  • Ranthambore has approximately 75–80 tigers — one of India's best tiger spotting destinations.
  • Safari zones are allocated by the forest department — specific zones cannot be 100% guaranteed.
  • Canter safaris (larger vehicles) are cheaper but less flexible than jeep safaris.
  • Ranthambore's famous tigers have individual names and territories tracked by naturalists.
  • Book safaris well in advance — peak season (March–June) zones fill up weeks ahead.

Ranthambore's open terrain and large lakes mean tigers are often visible in daylight near water — unlike denser forests where tigers are rarely seen.

Approximately 75–80 tigers across its 1,334 sq km territory — one of India's most tiger-dense reserves.

Jeep safaris (max 6 people) are more mobile, quieter, and intimate. Canter safaris (20+ passengers) are more economical but less flexible and noisier.

Yes, the 10th-century Ranthambore Fort is entirely within the park — a UNESCO World Heritage Site that adds a unique historical dimension to wildlife safaris.

Children above 5 years are permitted. The safari is an excellent educational experience for older children.

Many naturalists consider Ranthambore to have higher tiger sighting rates due to its open terrain.

Options from budget resorts to premium lodges like SUJAN Sher Bagh, Aman-i-Khas, and Ranthambore Regency. We match accommodation to your budget.
